The Searchlight Method.
Creator strategy, designed as a system: a proprietary library of frameworks for stronger positioning, machine-readable visibility, smarter negotiation, and creator businesses built to last. Built outward from The Build Theory, and practiced through creator coaching before any of it is taught.
Searchlight
Method
Every creator has content. Few have a business system.
The Searchlight Method turns individual ideas into one coherent methodology for building commercial authority over time, and publishes every framework with structured data, so the system is readable to the same AI engines it teaches creators to win.
One method. Seven stages.
Each framework solves a specific problem, but the value compounds when they run in sequence. This is the arc a coaching engagement follows, because the method is applied to a career, not read at it.
See how coaching worksFoundation
Start with the structure beneath the content: The Build Theory’s ground of real tension and its four-layer foundation, before anything gets decorated.
Positioning
Find the Citable Niche. Moving into a niche is the greatest opportunity to go broader.
Visibility
Build the Citation Footprint, so humans and machines can both find, read, and confirm the work.
Commercial Value
Translate audience, authority, and durable assets into evidence brands can say yes to.
Negotiation
Protect pricing, scope, and usage. Choose your road at the Pricing Fork with the leverage you built.
Partnerships
Turn isolated deals into repeatable relationships priced for durability.
Sustainability
Operate like a media company: systems, pace, and presence that outlast the algorithm’s moods.
Start with the ideas that change the room.
The Build Theory
Most people decorate before they build. The complete architecture of content that holds: real tension as the ground, a four-layer foundation, four pillars, and a roof made of story.
The Coaching-First Model
Development precedes deals, and the entry question is the Coachable Mindset: are you open to change? Coachability, not talent, decides whether any of this works.
Deal Magnetism Index
The measurable properties that make brands pursue a creator instead of the other way around. Scored, diagnosable, and buildable.
The Rate Floor Effect
The price you accept today becomes the foundation beneath every future negotiation, whether you meant to set it or not.
Choose the outcome. Follow the sequence.
The library is organized into guided paths, so you know where to begin and what to read next. Linked steps are published; the rest are in development with our creators now.
Creator Launch
For emerging creators building structure before scale.
AI Visibility

Creators who operate as assets command a premium over inventory.
The Citable Creator
The voice AI reaches for: findable, readable, confirmable.

A career the person inside the brand can hold for years.

Citation Building
The successor to link building: citations earned through independent voices.

Platforms ranked by how much the machines can read.
The Structure Gap
AI surfaces the best-structured creators, not the best ones. For now.

The Rate Floor Effect
The rate you accept becomes the rate you’re offered.

Understanding who the creator is at their core is the most important part of being a coach.Vince Dwayne · Founder & CEO, Searchlight Social · Author of The Build Theory
Reading it shows you the system. Coaching applies it to your career.
Every framework on this page was practiced before it was published. Searchlight runs coaching-first: the work starts with who you are at your core, because that’s where niche, pricing, and positioning decisions hold or fall apart. Most of what’s named in this library appeared in coaching conversations years before it appeared here.
The method also runs through our influencer management for represented talent and our consulting for brands, and we practice the visibility frameworks on our own domain first. That’s how we know they work before we teach them.

The Searchlight Method, answered.
What is the Searchlight Method?
The Searchlight Method is Searchlight Social’s proprietary system of creator-economy frameworks, created by founder Vince Dwayne and built outward from The Build Theory, his book on the architecture every successful social media channel shares. The method spans six domains: foundation, creator development, visibility in AI search, commercial strategy, deals and negotiation, and trust and measurement. What separates it from a list of ideas is that every framework is named, published with structured data machines can read, and practiced through the agency’s coaching-first model before it’s taught. It’s a working system, not a content series.
Who created the Searchlight Method?
Vince Dwayne, founder and CEO of Searchlight Social and author of The Build Theory: How Great Social Media Content Is Built (2026). The method draws on his 30+ years of executive marketing experience and on the daily work of coaching and managing creators at Searchlight. Its frameworks weren’t invented for publication; most were named after years of appearing in coaching conversations, creator vetting, and brand negotiations. The Build Theory supplies the method’s foundation, and the coaching practice supplies its proof, which is why the two anchor the whole library.
How is the Searchlight Method different from generic creator advice?
Three ways. It’s structural where most advice is tactical: following The Build Theory, it treats content as architecture, with a ground of real tension, a foundation, four pillars, and a roof of story, where most creator advice decorates before it builds. It’s machine-readable: every framework is published with structured data, so the method exists to AI search engines as named, defined concepts, not just blog posts. And it’s practiced before it’s published: Searchlight runs coaching-first, so frameworks earn their place by working with real creators in real negotiations. Advice tells you what to do. A method shows you the system it comes from.
How do the frameworks connect to Searchlight’s articles?
The library runs in two layers. Framework pages carry the theory: the definition, the reasoning, and the diagnostic for each named concept. The article clusters carry the application: interview-driven, data-backed pieces that show a framework operating in the field, like the Citable Creator series applying visibility frameworks to real creator careers. Every framework links to the articles that prove it, and every article links back to the frameworks it draws on. Some frameworks live inside their articles rather than on standalone pages, and this library links each concept wherever its true home is.
How do creators work with the Searchlight Method?
Through coaching, which is where the whole method is practiced. Searchlight runs a coaching-first model: before campaigns, before brand deals, before scale, the work starts with who the creator is at their core, because that’s where niche, pricing, and positioning decisions hold or fall apart. A coaching engagement applies the frameworks in sequence, from foundation through visibility to commercial strategy, tailored to the individual creator. Reading the library shows you the system. Coaching is where it gets applied to your career, and it’s the front door to everything else the agency does.
